BioStars is a life and health sciences comprehensive acceleration vehicle aimed at enabling the bio-entrepreneurs of tomorrow to turn their scientific ideas into marketable products.
The BioStars competition comprises of two distinct streams:
Turn your own scientific ideas into marketable products. The competition is open to ideas and business models across all life science and health care disciplines at any developmental stage.
In this stream, distinguished early career scientists and entrepreneurs are invited to work jointly on novel preclinical high impact projects within the areas of: Therapeutics, Medtech, Diagnostics & Future Health Technologies and Genomics & Digital Health. The projects are proposed and co-jointly mentored by our industrial, academic and translational partners and they will form a core to what can become a future success story.
BioStars provides extensive support for the competing teams to help create successful life science businesses.
Each team works closely together with mentors from our academic and industry partners – leading biotechnology, pharmaceutical, consultancy, intellectual property, law and venture capital organisations. Several mentors from different disciplines are assigned to each team such that all aspects of their business model can be overseen by specialists.
During two workshops, leading industry professionals and bio-entrepreneurs share their experience in founding and running companies. Presentations are complemented by discussion rounds, networking opportunities and one-on-one mentoring sessions.
